SC Reviewer: The Sunforce 100 LED Solar Motion Light is a great option if you are looking for an outdoor solar flood light.
One thing that is immediately apparent as soon as you get your hands on the light is that the build quality is excellent. There are multiple hinges to allow the lights to be adjusted, and they have no issues staying in any of the positions within the range of motion. The hinges have just the right amount of resistance for them to feel sturdy, but not hard to move.
The light is powered by three 1.2V 1500 mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries located in the main body, and are included with the solar light. These are the batteries that the solar panel charges during the day. Like all batteries, these AA cells will degrade over time and hold less and less energy. The fact that the batteries are user replaceable is a big plus.
We were able to turn on the light after charging the batteries for 45 minutes on a sunny day via the solar panel. The next day, we let the light charge for a full day and it had no issues making it through the night on the 30 second medium motion detection distance setting. We then unplugged the solar panel from the light so that it couldn’t charge during the day, and it was still able to make it through the next night.
One feature we would like to see added is “low light activation”. This would mean that motion sensing activation is disabled during the day.
Overall, the Sunforce 100 LED Solar Motion Light is an excellent outdoor solar light.
